Zinrico State Route 666 (abbreviated ZIN-666) is a state route maintained by the state of Zinrico's transportation department. It runs from State Route 5 in Pichulla County to State Route 66 in Milliam.

Zinrico State Route 666 is known as the "Cursed Route" by local superstitious people[1], because the route's number is said to be the number of the beast, and, in June 2006, people begged the state to renumber the route, and the state denied the request, saying, "It's just a number. Numbers don't hurt". To this day, Route 666 is the "second-least traveled Zinrico state route", after State Route 307.

Nicknames[]

An eastbound highway shield near the town of Burnt Plains, with an additional sign encouraging motorists not to be afraid of the route's "notorious" number. The sign contains words "it is not", which appear to have no spaces between them.

Zinrico State Route 666 has been given many nicknames by the superstitious population, such as "Highway of Doom" and "The Bad Road". The non-superstitious population claim the nicknames were "thought up to try to discourage people from traveling on the road."[2] Of course, it doesn't work.[3]
