Prayers are associated with one of the three Religions of Tel Loiryn - Divinity, Transcendentalism, and Chaotic. Each individual can only access prayers from one of the religions; by praying at a certain altar, these characters can convert to a different religion. There is no need to have a certain degree of faith to access these spells except that a conversion is followed by fifteen minutes of not being able to use any prayer at all. As a "poor man's right", prayers can be accessed by all. Prayers have some of the most powerful effects in the game, but they may not be easy to control, and Chaotic prayers all involve costly sacrifice.

Prayer
Pacifism
Activation Prayer stance (which prevents praying individual from doing many other things, especially not fighting); cannot move
Prerequisites Praying individual must not have engaged in battle in the past 30 seconds.
Religion Divinity (Divine altars)
Properties Prevents battle from waging within 50 yards of praying individual. Inactivates the moment the praying individual moves.
Materials used None
Prayer
Redemption
Activation Minimal prayer stance, uninterruptible by death
Prerequisites Praying individual must not have had killed any characters in the past 30 seconds.
Religion Divinity (Divine altars)
Properties If while this prayer is activated the opposing party uses a Phoenix Fire tonic, praying individual is brought back to life as well free of charge. This turns off Redemption.

Prayer
Retribution
Activation Prayer stance (which prevents praying individual from doing many other things, especially not fighting)
Prerequisites Praying individual must not have had killed any characters in the past five minutes.
Religion Divinity (Divine altars)
Properties Upon death of praying individual, the enemy that made the killing blow is struck by a vertical shaft of heavenly lightning that reduces him/her to ashes. This effect is often unblockable. The effect begins 6 seconds after beginning and dissipates as soon as the prayer is discontinued. While praying, the individual's stance is very obvious.
Materials used None
Prayer
Communion
Activation Minimal prayer stance (prevents fighting)
Prerequisites None
Religion Transcendentalism (Transcendent altars)
Properties Allows control over, communication through, and sight from viewpoint of, nearby neutral critters. These often are not useful in combat, but may be useful in stealth scouting.
Materials used None
Prayer
Restoration
Activation Prayer stance (which prevents praying individual from doing many other things, especially not fighting)
Prerequisites None
Religion Transcendentalism (Transcendent altars)
Properties At the end of the Restoration prayer (which takes 40 seconds), all Assigned former allies within 200 yards return to control of player commanding praying party. This is the only counter to Assignment. It is also hard to complete due to the fact that the Assigned are invulnerable to destruction by death until two minutes have passed, and this effect only works after those two minutes have passed, placing the party at a grave threat.

Prayer
Revelation
Activation Prayer stance (which prevents praying individual from doing many other things, especially not fighting)
Prerequisites None
Religion Transcendentalism (Transcendent altars)
Properties At the end of the Revelation prayer (which lasts 20 seconds), identifies properties of a magical artifact or item.
Materials used None
Prayer
Annihilation
Activation Prayer stance (which prevents praying individual from doing many other things, especially not fighting)
Prerequisites None
Religion Chaotic (Chaos altars)
Properties After five seconds of this prayer, two Annihilators (molten infernal giants) will erupt from the ground to do battle against any enemies in the vicinity. Annihilators are invulnerable to destruction by death and are also incredibly powerful in melee combat. Ending the prayer causes the Annihilators to erupt, releasing a deadly shockwave that kills the entire party regardless of where they are. The only hope of victory for the player is to use a Phoenix Fire tonic to bring at least one party member back to life.
Materials used Sacrifices the entire party (see above).
Prayer
Assignment
Activation 3 seconds of Prayer stance uninterruptible by death
Prerequisites Praying individual must be on the verge of death.
Religion Chaotic (Chaos altars)
Properties Character's soul is sacrificed to the Hells in exchange for continued existence of character in battle. Such a character would turn on the sacrificing party's enemies but would then turn on the sacrificing party thereafter. The character would also be invulnerable to destruction by death for two minutes, so if battle ends before that time the sacrificing party will have to flee the wrath of the Assigned character.
Materials used The praying character, recoverable only through the prayer Restoration.
Prayer
Impression
Activation Ritual involving praying individual and target allied character; must not be interrupted to work
Prerequisites None
Religion Chaotic (Chaos altars)
Properties At the end of the Impression prayer (which lasts 25 seconds), near-permanently impresses one of several magical effects that are normally found only on items or artifacts on target allied character (see Enchantments) at the cost of praying individual's life. Praying individual may NOT be brought back to life using Phoenix Fire - this is a permanent sacrifice - so players must choose wisely.
Materials used The praying character, not recoverable.
